The current TX4 model is being manufactured under licence in China by Geely, who will possibly supply parts to LTI in future. |

Its difficult to get a true idea of how many LTI taxis are being used in the USA, but it must be very few. If LTI were to be able to get even a small percentage of the taxi fleets in the major cities it would increase their sales enormously but the high cost compared to normal American sedan-based taxis counts against it. If the manufacturing base using Geely of China can reduce the costs they might stand a chance, but currently I think they have only a tourist or novelty value in places like San Francisco or New York. This is much the way it appears in the documentary people are mostly amused by it and fail to appreciate how practical it is. |

I like the LTI cabs a lot. They look great and distinctive. However, you are right, sunbar, they are far too expensive. I have seen the newest TX4 (2012 model) listed for 46.000 € here in Austria. |
