Used by the Bangville police force. This 'laughably' old car was only about ten years old at the time of the filming. I started searching through my copy of The Standard Catalog of American Cars - fortunately I didn't have to look very far. This is a 1903 Autocar - built by the same company that had a long career making trucks. |

Good find! You are absolutely right (I have the same book). For 1903 Autocar offered just one model; Type VII. |
