I've never personally seen a pre 1984 with a tilt hood on a GM school bus, only the steel hood that opens on the top as seen here. The first school bus I ever went on was an early 80s GMC/WARD with this hood. edit: This bus is from before 1977, because it has the fixed back window which blue bird changed that year. An interesting note is, 1977 was the last time Blue Bird made ANY exterior changes to its conventional school bus, with the obvious exception to changes to the different hood units that have changed over the years. The body section of a 1977 and a 2009 Blue Bird conventional school bus are exactly identical except for maybe some VERY minor differences, like LED lights (which are optional). -- Last edit: 2008-06-21 08:36:19
