Dino, I guess? |

It's definitely not a real Dino; the A-pillar is way too thick for one thing. If I had to guess, I'd say this car was a replica, probably fiberglass, and probably engineless (to make it easier to mount on the side of a building). |

Custom Made Dino then? |

I think it's a Kelmark GT. Most were built on VW platforms, but some received a Mid-Engineering chassis with more powerful engines. |

I looked this up online, and I think you've got it exactly. |

I would agree as well. http://www.priceofhistoys.com/category/kelmark/ /vehicle.php?id=128806 looks to be one as well...I'll rename them both and as an added bonus we gain a new make on the site. |

Yes, it is indeed a Kelmark GT. I'm building two of them in the middle of California's San Joaquin Valley, one for myself and one for my father. The Kelmark was built in the 1970's and 80's, intended for VW bug chassis, or custom tube chassis that Kelmark manufactured under their metal fabrication branch, Kelmark Engineering. They were powered by either VW power trains, Corvair power, or Kelmark's super package: a 454 Oldsmobile Toronado FWD set up, moved to the rear. For my two, I went with neither and built my own tube chassis to run VW power, though I'm thinking of playing with Subaru turbo power with a Kennedy adapter plate to what would have to be a beefed up VW trans. Check 'em out on my website at www.beechinor.com If you wish to know any more, email me at RussBeechinor@gmail.com |

Wasn't the role model for it rather the Porsche 904 than the Ferrari Dino? -- Last edit: 2008-12-07 10:09:14 |
