Why on Earth would a car with awful steering race in Monte-Carlo? |

They compete with other vehicle in same classes. |

Second-gen Corvairs were pretty good road cars if there were set up properly. |

The main defect in the Corvair was the 'nut behind the wheel'. The American public was so used to big wallowy front-engined, rear-wheel-driven cars that a rear-engined 'compact', driven as they had always driven, would inevitably bite back, thus giving Ralph Nader an excuse for a crusade against GM. |

That's no ordinary Corvair. It's a Yenko Stinger. Specially modified Corsas by Don Yenko for road racing competition. One of these cars won the 1966 D class SCCA national championship. |

And that's not Monte Carlo or France for that matter. That's Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey California. This particular Yenko was just for sale on eBay a month or so ago. |

your damn ignorant!!! second gen vair will out handle any other american car of its time(except corvette)!!! heck it could even keep up with the porsches of its day!!! even the early gen handled pretty good!!! -- Last edit: 2009-11-16 00:36:11 |

A simple "You're wrong, thank you" would've been much more acceptable. If you take a look on the forum, you'll spot guidelines on how to get banned. So please drop the Corvair-fan-crazed negativism and stick to supportive evidence that should prove me wrong. But seeing as chris40 has already provided me with what I can handle, please don't bother. |

Is the last car (black #1 or #11 - I don't know which way to read it) a Detomaso Panthera ? |
