In the cartoon series of Transformers, Bumblebee was a little yellow Volkswagen Bug. I'm taking a stab in the dark and guessing that this was the directors tribute to the original show. |

If it's a dirty car how come the sign on the windshield said "Extra Clean"? -- Last edit: 2008-02-09 21:58:24 |

I bought my impala from a place like that. Minus Bernie Mack and E.t.c. |

These bumpers were introduced for 1974. This 1303 equivalent was called Super Beetle in the US. |

Sorry, but as I know Brazilian Fusca's with rounded front screen were never made. This type of front screen was only used for the 1303 ("Super Beetle" in the USA) and for the 1303 Cabriolet (made by Karmann). -- Last edit: 2008-11-28 20:17:06 |

What I'd also like to know is why the actual Beetle in the movie said "'71" right by "Extra Clean", when we all in fact know it's a '74. Even if they couldn't tell the difference, every person with the least bit of old VW knowledge knows that curved windshields in Super Beetles didn't come out until 1973! |

And the curved screen was ONLY used for the 2nd gen of the Super Beetle, the 1303 outside of America. The first Super Beetle was the 1302. |
