HAVERTON HILL 1 ◊ 2008-01-20 15:03	METRO-SCANIA (MCW) METROPOLITAN in service with TYNE AND WEAR PTE, 1976 in central Newcastle. These buses had a bad reputation for body frame corrosion, most were withdrawn by 1986. A partnership between MCW of Birmingham, England and Scania of Sweden. Other Metropolitans were sold to London Transport, Reading Transport, Merseyside PTE, Greater Manchester PTE, West Yorkshire PTE, Greater Glasgow - Strathclyde PTE and Leicester City Transport who used them into the 1990's. Maidstone and District had at least one and evaluated it against a BRISTOL VR and VOLVO AILSA.
