1987 XL models had a black grille too. However the difference is the absence of rubstrips on the front bumper. Peruse the '87 brochure: Link to "paintref.com" '88 XL went to the chrome grille: Link to "paintref.com" The Custom/XL could opt for a package/option the chrome grille though as noted in the brochures. |
