I've managed to own and drive a Prius from this era (late 90's) and the acceleration isn't that bad as Jeremy makes out, nor is the interior bad quality. Jeremy deliberately takes the piss and most of the time has no idea what he's talking about, thats the kind of reporter he is. Most of his comments about cars are absolute lies, people think he is cool because of his outrageous opinions and statements but the whole time he's mostly wrong, he's a typical journalist will lie to grab the peoples attention and so this get him to like him. Another example in his latest DVD (came out in late 2007) he put a turbo in a rover 200 and said it was direct out of a MG ZR, this is impossible because the turbo was so huge it most likely came out of a muscle car or sports car but definately not an MG ZR! Honestly, don't listen to him, yes Top Gear is amazing and he's really great at being an entertainer but the guy has no clue what he's on about, he has a modest view on cars, a bit like a typical woman's view on cars who will like a car for it's colour! (No offence to the ladies!) You're all being brainwashed. Why don't you test drive one then you'll know what I'm on about, and anyway why would you want to buy a common hatchback that everyone else has why don't people try and stand out from the crowd and travel around london for free and earn people's respect! |
