I guess, yes |

Is it? Seems different. (But I admit it was my first thought...)![]() -- Last edit: 2006-09-15 15:19:15 |

Does not seem to have the same scale as a HMMWV |

This is a Toyota Hummer-clone, maybe there are more... http://www.toyotaoffroad.com/Articles/Toyota/MegaCruiser/Images/ExtBlue.jpg And another one, I think it matches...: ![]() http://www.wing21.rtaf.mi.th/wboard/528200340410.JPG -- Last edit: 2006-09-15 15:36:47 |

Hummer should sue Toyota for violating copyright laws. |

Mmm, now I don't know it anymore, Ford, Isuzu, Mitsubishi or Toyota? Anyone speak Thai? http://www.wing21.rtaf.mi.th/wboard/question.asp?GID=562 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-09-15 15:42:05 |

I would guess that the Thai armed forces held a competition for a HMMWV-like vehicle and these were the entries. Presumably the model we're trying to identify was the winner. |

I would say its the Isuzu looking at the front wheel arch. |

The four vehicles look like prototypes, non matches the vehicle we are looking for. But further down on the above mentioned page the production vehicle is displayed:![]() I cannot say if a brand name is given for the vehicle in the text. So far I could not find any further information about these vehicles. There are a lot of 'clones' around, even the Hummer/HMMWV is a clone. The first design came from Lamborghini: http://www.lambocars.com/lm/cheetah.htm |

interesting I never noticed the obvious similarity with LM002.. ![]() |

The Lamborghini Cheetah was lend to the US Military for testing in 1977. It was rejected for not being from a US company (nationalism is quite important in military circles) but tested and later crashed all the same. On the knowledge gained with this vehicle the final draft for the HMMWV was drawn in 1979, which later was met by AM General. Well, I have posted this picture on a Thai Military vehicle forum. Very difficult typing in Thai, but I have found a translator... 2 people confirmed it as a Mitsubishi Strada 4WD. So that will it be... -- Last edit: 2007-02-08 22:50:05 |

Link to "www.ordnancerta.com" (PDF from http://www.ordnancerta.com/newsord/index.php/forum/10 ) All four prototype models (Ford, Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Toyota) are passed the test. At the time, the military chose Mitsubishi due to the cheapest. The military will receive the first Mitsubishis in 26 January(มกราคม) 2002(2545). -- Last edit: 2014-03-13 09:54:45 |
