Of course this is only opinion, but Jaguar's new look doesn't apeal to me. I like classic luxury like the XJR, Bentley Coninental GT and cars like that. The XKR is no different between Cadillacs and new, performance luxury. |

:D, The new XKR doesn't look like a luxury car, it looks like a performance luxury car. Which focuses on performance with a few lxury features thrown in. This is Cadillac's specialty. Cadillac=performance luxury, Chevrolet=mid-priced cars and trucks, Buick=luxury, Pontiac=performance, HUMMER=4x4, Saturn=entry level and GMC=trucks and utility. Ford Motor Company's Jaguar was pure, un-tainted lxury (XJR) but now with the XKR is performance luxury. Astin Martin has been Ford's performance luxury car company. Mercury it's entry-level country, Lincoln it's mid-class luxury company, Land Rover it's 4x4 company, Volvo mid-class performance/luxury and Mazda it's sports company (just like for Chrysler it's Jeep=4x4, Chrysler=luxury and Dodge mid-class cars and trucks). |

Explorer4x4 > you mean XKR or XJR? Jaguar, Saab, Volvo, etc. are more "exotic luxury" for the US groups and US customers, I think (where Cadillac is a pure american luxury make). |

I thought Porsche, Ferrari and Lambourghini were exotic luxury? I meant XKR=performance luxury and XJR=luxury. I think of Buick as entry level luxury or 3rd-class luxury, Lincoln and Chrysler as mid-class luxury, Cadillac and Saab as mid-class performance luxury, Jaguar and Astin Martin as premium 1st class luxury, Porsche and Bentley as exotic luxury, Lambourgini and Ferrari as high-performance exotics. |

These are more exotic performance than luxury, though they are expensive (and the interior of a Lamborghini is not so much luxury...) With nearly 400 hp and 0-100 km/h in 5.3 sec, the XJR is also a performance car I think. Like BMW M5 and few others. -- Last edit: 2006-06-14 21:47:22 |

Ya, I don't really know. I'm not to smart when it comes to exotics, cars under 1958 and non-US cars. I'm better at SUVs, 90's cars and modern day cars. I really shouldn't open my mouth on thigns like this. |

Actually from episode 2.04, but a clip from the review was in 3.06. In episode 2.04 Jeremy reviewed by seeing how far he could drive in it without getting bored. He got to John O Groats and then decided to go all the way back. -- Last edit: 2009-03-11 12:16:31 |

Why is automaniac14th going into paroxysms of exclamation marks over a car which is a mere 20 years old still being driven? |
◊ 2024-06-21 02:57 |
LOL, I don't see cars older than 5 years where I live very often. I get easily excited, I guess. |

My Mercédès is six years old and my Bentley is 71 years old. The Mercédès has just turned over 17,000 miles from new and I think it will comfortably last at least another 20 years, if you can still buy diesel. |
