Am I only one, who think that DS420 was just ugly? |

No. |

Not pretty, but how many limousines are actually elegant? They are all designed to be imposing so have big exaggerated features and lose a sense of scale. Only the Merc 600 has - to me at least - some elegance. DS420 is not the worst of its type, but succeeds in looking British which was one objective. |

Well...IMHO,as for Daimlers, Majestic Major and DR450 were pretty nice. |

The DS420 was based on the Jaguar Mk.X/420G which itself was very wide and swollen looking. It also follows frontal styling cues from the 1966-68 Jaguar 420/Daimler Sovereign. It is an ungainly limo but probably looks more handsome now because of its retro-ness. Nowadays if you happen to see one on the road over here, it's either going to a funeral (if it's black) or a wedding (if it's white) Usually it's black. The Austin/Vanden Plas Princess from the 50s and 60s was quite elegant /vehicle_36242-Princess-4-Litre-Limousine-DM4-1960.html -- Last edit: 2014-07-18 17:28:45 |

When I got married I wanted a DS420 as it was the latest model available, but they didn't have one anywhere, so I had to accept a Majestic Major. Looking back, I think it was a better choice. |
