1996-1998. not a 1993. The grill dips into the bumper further than the headlights on the 1996-1998 models. The 1993-1995 models have the grill even with the headlights. |

Isn't this the 5.9 LX? |

+1 1998 grand cherokee 5.9 Limited/LX -- roof rack, however the hood looks a little out of place -- Last edit: 2009-06-18 21:02:24 |

The hoods and roof racks were all basically the same. The 5.9L came with hood louvers and the grill had cross hatching. |

I just purchased this movie on blu-ray, and I can tell you without a doubt this is the 1998 one-year-only 5.9 The roof rack, the grill, even the hood louvers ARE present. The special 5.9 low-profile roofrack is clearly identifiable when the Jeep first appears from behind the hillside. The hood louvers are hard to see because the Jeep is dirty, but if you look closely, in the last 2 seconds the Jeep is on screen the sunlight/shadows pass over the hood and you can see the outline and raised section of the louvers pass differently under the shadows. Hope this helps. -- Last edit: 2021-03-05 13:58:52 |

Watching my blu-ray again today and can definitely confirm those hood louvers. Especially when the car passes through the shadows. |
