I found Mars M.A. looks like very much. http://www.meisterdinger.de/mars/ http://www.meisterdinger.de/mars/a25.gif This sidecar has a front brake, and the detail is modernized, so seems 1930's. |

hi Jun...it looks very like indeed! nice find... I don't speak german, but I could understand that the name changed for MARS to M.A.in 1925, so it would be a M.A.25 around 1925/1930...the company stopped in 1957. |

A very nice discovery, indeed. Jun, there are still quite a number of motorcycles left in the 'unidentified' section. ![]() I had a look into the chronicles. The 'M.A. 25' started in 1927, after the 'Mars' insolvency and subsequent takeover by the Müller Brothers in 1926. It is interesting to note that the film plays during the first world war. |

He already identified lots (by the way, good work and thanks to you, Jun ![]() What we would need is somebody that can arrange categories for bikes. Currently I put most of them in "Misc" since I never know if it has to go in Road, Sport or Trail. A similar problem is for the old cars that are always put as convertible or sedan, where there was names like "phaeton", "torpedo" and others. We should start a thread about that on the forum to decide what to do for them. |

If it was possible to contribute even a little, it's glad for me. However, the 'unidentified' motorcycle is Powerful enemy. (...Especially 'Batman & Robin' !) |

It could be Honda based, as 'Honda of America' was thanked in the credits of the film. |

The venerable Kirk is older than the 'chair' (see thumbnail #1) which looks and is too modern for the Great War. See him (but not la Lollo) on YouTube's '25 Oldest Living Film Stars'. -- Last edit: 2017-12-20 04:38:43 (chicomarx) |

Altes Schloss Schleißheim. ![]() ![]() Neues Schloss in The demolished parts (where the prisoners are held) seem to be part of the same complex, apparently still war damaged in 1957. ![]() Indoor switches to Bavaria Film studios. ![]() |

This is a 1921 Mars A 20. The man who owned and rode the bike in the film was interviewed in a local Munich paper: http://www.pressreader.com/germany/muenchner-merkur/20161227/282574492736173![]() ![]() ![]() |
