why 59? this one could be 1958 too i think. |

It can't. The 1958 has two fat chrome spears on the trunklid. Wether this is a 1959 or 1960? Impossible to tell fron this photo, since there is only ONE visible difference (apart from a lot of technical stuff): The '59 has vertically pleated seats, whereas in a '60 they are horizontally pleated. |

Forget the 'Vette. Look at that 1960 4-door, flat-top Cadillac sedan behind it ! Style 6239 sedan [95% sure]. |

The year of that Corvette is most certainly a 1959...I met the owner of that car while on vacation in Bonaire (Netherland Antilles) this past January 2007. He resides in Las Vegas, he gave me a photo business card with his famous car featured on the card...the corvette appears in excellent show condition. He indicated to me that he will sell or auction the car this year. What do you suppose he will get for a car with the provinence of that Corvette? |

Belongs to Eric "Otter" Stratton (Tim Matheson), the charming lothario of Delta House. |

If there is anyone interested in this '59 Corvette. I know the owner of this car. He lives in Eugene Oregon, not Las Vegas. He can prove that he owns and has not sold this car since it was in the movie Animal House. If you have any questions, please respond to this page with a good phone number or e-mail address and I can have him get a hold of you. Thanks....If you here of someone selling a '59 corvette this they claim in the one from the movie, steer clear, this car is not for sale and has not be owned by anyone else in over 40 years. |

There was only one C-1 Corvette used in the actual movie and that vehicle was obtained (borrowed or rented) locally in Eugene, Oregon. As far as I know, Kathy's post above is correct that the original owner still has that car. However, a second 1959 C-1 Corvette was purchased by Universal Studios for use in advertising the movie (photos, etc.). Universal Studios sold that car at auction in 1982 to a gentleman who lived in Los Angeles. He subsequently retired to Las Vegas, Nevada and sold that car to me in October 2013. I have the documentation of the sale from Universal Studios. Here is a picture of that car:![]() |

Update on Kathy's and Edog's contributions: The Corvette has landed in Illinois and is now displayed at Volo Auto Museum of Volo, Illinois.![]() |

Edog, is that the original color? Reason I ask is that Universal owned a light metallic blue '59 Vette in the 1970s which appeared in the movie Earthquake and a couple late episodes of Adam-12; I thought it might have been the one used in promoting Animal House. (Only asking seven years later, but...) |

Interestingly, 62imperial, that particular Corvette was is last known to have been used in a production in 1980, and it had been painted red by then: /vehicle_257595-Chevrolet-Corvette-1959.html |
