The Amertek 2500L is a structural / aircraft crash rescue fire-fighting vehicle built by Amertek Incorporated of Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. The truck was a Military Adaptation of a Commercial Item (MACI), namely the Amertek CFRV-1.
It is not verified but it is said that this apparatus was the replacement for the M-530 Series. A total of 362 Amertek 2500Ls were delivered to the United States Army from 1987 to 1991 under Contract DAAJ10-84-C-A239. The trucks were delivered in two colors - yellow for US domestic bases and red for foreign bases. At least three 2500Ls were also delivered to the United States Marine Corps. Several of these trucks received "glider kit" rehabs- Pierce converted 23 units in 2001 and E-One also converted several units to 2001 Hurricane 1000/750/40F pumpers. In Germany, Hensel converted 11 Amerteks, using only the Amertek engine & transmission. Eight were delivered to bases in Germany and 3 to Romania.
