Benchmark for special editions and trims: - 1998 Superman, released March 25, 1998. Painted side moldings, colored bumpers, 6Jx14 alloy wheels (sport wheels from the Passat B3 seen above, 1998), wire spoke wheels (1999), "dimmed combination taillights" (=smoked?) - 2000 Freedom Point: Special edition released to mark the Year of the Dragon and the new millennium, released August 11, 2000. Features black interior with subtle red accents and dragon patterned seating, plus "bold innovative designs" (redesigned?) bumpers, skid plates, instrument switches and interior materials. Bumper with red trim.
