Yes, Ford Popular |

I think Anglia more likely - Popular had twin taillights fitted as standard and a painted bumper. No running boards so likely post-war. |

I'm thinking pre-war (just) Anglia E04A because of the bumper with inset. Pre-war E04A was late 39 into 41 before production halted, and Scandinavia was profitable export destination so it seems Ford tried to keep assembly lines open as long as they could. Post-war E04A had simple curve profile bumper, which may have also been fitted to the later 40/41 cars as well. Boot light fits book pic of early E04A, no rear lights also suggests E04A. Running boards came and went - as much to do with differences between Standard and Deluxe versions as dates, so - for instance - a 39 Standard didn't have them. |

The headlight visible is bigger than a Popular’s so Anglia. There appear to be chromed badges in the hubcaps, so Anglia. The bumper is very easy to swap, and very few prewar E04s (comparatively) left the factory. The other point is that the E04 was only available in black, blue or grey. |

OK let's go E494A, but somehow with earlier 39-40 bumper. |

I’ve had another look, E04A production ended in October 1948, and a colour called Pastel Green was introduced in 1947, no more accurate date given. So it could be an E04A, but a post war one. I also wonder about the boot lid, which does not appear to have the lockable handle, more an escutcheon for the carriage key. -- Last edit: 2024-12-15 22:00:12 |
