Basic EU model. I was going to see if somehow it was a Spanish imported Montero Sport but the RPO don't say which exact country this was destined for just simply Europe. Okay, so the way I see it, the reason Mitsubishis have VINs where the production digits make no sense despite being produced at the same time is that each production digit is counted based on the engine and year. Let's say for instance, a V43W built September 1992 might be no. 000892. Then we find another Pajero, built May 1992 with 000450. The May 92 build would have a three-digit zero number despite the September build also having it because it has a different engine and Mitsubishi runs separate counters for different engine styles. There's no single conveyor belt like "oh WVWZZZ1HZXM317517 is for the French market while M317518 is a RHD model for Japan" instead, each end digit is arranged by year and the number of the specific type of engine built that year. Tl;dr each engine has its own counters which run independently from each other. |

Would make sense. I never dug that deep i to the serial numbers to be honest. |
