I remember that a friend of mine test-drove one at the local dealership shortly after passing his driving test. But I think it was part of a stock clearance, in fact I was surprised because I knew that it had already been discontinued long before that |

If the Camry is anything to go by, we Europeans don't seem to like big Japanese executive limousines. -- Last edit: 2024-12-09 17:05:46 |

As for now, big limousines in general. What's surprising is that in my neighbourhood there are 2x Kia Opirus -- Last edit: 2024-12-09 17:09:08 |

Big Asian ones seem to face an uphill battle in Europe, but big European ones are popular in Japan and Korea... |

I think the thing is we build such quality limousines - not just Germany, but also France and Italy - and consider Japanese ones rather excessive when something as good as the euro barges are on the market. Back in the late 70s and 80s it was rare to find a small car of such high quality and so much value when 2CVs, Beetles and 500s of comparable size roamed the streets, which is why the Civics and Colts and Cherries sold so well. We don't need that additional quality guarantee on a Japanese limousine when we have had Mercs, Beamers, Lancias and Peugeots because quality was not a rare trait on a car of such size. |

I usually forget we got this generation too, at least until I flip through my magazines' price lists. Never seen one, or any Legend for that matter, I'd really like to see one. |

For what it's worth these were very rare in the US as well, which is typically more receptive to bigger Japanese cars. |
