Based on the wheel wells, this looks like a 1986-87 model. |

Aren't these the plain wheel arches of the 1980-83 US Rabbit Convertible ? Edit: Withdrawn, if bumper is painted white then this is newer indeed -- Last edit: 2021-07-22 22:56:10 |

The 1981-83 models have that black plastic half-cover of the rear wheel well. Then the 1984-86 base models have full black covers over both wheel wells. It looks like the 1985 Wolfsburg Edition was the first to have the body-colored wheel wells, but that only came in silver or burgundy. Looks like the 1986-87 Best Sellers and Wolfsburgs were the first opportunity for white. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/81rabbit/Rabbit_Page_11.jpg https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/84rabbit/Rabbit_Page_15.jpg https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/86fullline2/page6.jpg EDIT - On the Cabby site, they do list the 1983 Wolfsburg Ed. which was white on white and had all white wheel wells, but this one does not have the white wheels that went on that model.
