It's crashed at the end of the episode but the accident is not shown and the wreck is played by another S40 with plain hubcaps rather than alloys:

In the episode, the vehicle was Sun Hill CID's new "crime car" with the call sign Sierra Oscar One-One.

The vehicle's accident occurred when the vehicle was forced to break suddenly to avoid hitting DC Proctor (Gregory Donaldson) who was chasing a wanted offender, only to be rear-ended by the Metropolitan Police Territorial Support Group van.

The funniest bit was when the vehicle returned to the station on the back of the flatbed after the accident.

Ch. Supt. Mannion: (Seeing the Crime Car after the accident) "Is that your crime car?"

Ch. Supt. Brownlow: "It was."

Ch. Supt. Mannion: "And you thought you have it for three months?"

Insp. Conway: (To Ch. Supt. Brownlow) "Never mind, sir. It could be worse. At least the wheels didn't come off."
