But the GAZ AA was in production from 1932-38, when Latvia (where this was filmed) was still independent, so rather Ford? |

Of course, many of them were brought to the Baltics in 1940/41. Not about Latvia, but... The first GAZes reached Estonia in 1938, and on January 1, 1940 there were 6 trucks, 3 buses and 1 fire truck in the country. 40 GAZes were ordered for the Kaitsevägi in the spring of 1940 (whether they were ordered in preparation for the annexation or just because they were tough is unknown) but only 2 arrived. By the second half of 1941 there were 226 GAZ AA and AAA, 12 GAZ 42 with gas generators and 9 GAZ tippers. http://eag.vanatehnika.ee/vbm3.html |
