 Hardly any cars in this movie (..the director seems to cut away from any cars on screen.!!)

 In the 2000 remake (that I liked) there were more cars

 He caught only taxis in this movie, bad start for Shaft. All the other Private Investigators show always had the their car in the first case. :mad: But other 2 movie following he had a car, In the 7 episodes he must had driven a 73 Dodge Charger. Which isn't in this web. :/

I'm about a year late, but it's a 1970 Plymouth intermediate - Satellite, Road Runner, or GTX. It's been modified with a beefed up rear end and a non-standard paint scheme, so I can't be certain what exact model it started out as.
