What a terrible movie. |

I seriously don't really feel like this movie deserves this much hate. It kind of looks high-budget to me. Key words being kind and of. Also, how do you guys feel about Youtuber Jacksfilms' shtick with sarcastically praising terrible movies such as this one? In my opinion, I really don't like his sense of sarcasm. |

Of all the vanity projects that Hollywood has produced, this is one of the most vain of them all. That is why it gets a lot of hate. |

I didn't even hear about it. According to the screenshots it looks like a nuts parody of the Planet of the Apes series, shot in the scenery of Dick Tracy. |

@ night cub, what are you talking about? People that like movies don't like it because people look ridiculous as cats. If you want to talk about vanity, The Shawshank Redemption has one of the top 5 best filming locations of all time with the lone tree location. The only location that tops it in the US to me is the main house in Homegrown (1998) which is mindblowing. The Shawshank Redemption has been #1 on IMDB for a very long time. Vanity has made great things happen and made productions go the extra mile. |

A vanity project is one that is done for no other reason than to stroke the egos of Hollywood power players, be they producers, directors, creators, managers, actors, agents, executives. There was no reason for this film other than Hollywood is devoid of any original thought anymore. |

But was this a vanity project though? People were dunking on this because of the fact that the CGI was so atrocious it had to be fixed twice in post and how goofy the situations were, not because of the concept it was a vanity project (it's not like anybody even gives a shit anymore if a project is a vehicle for a actor/actress or a vehicle for something/somebody as long as it's good in some way.) That's not even counting that original ideas always bomb these days and cost way more than they make back, so it makes a lot of sense to stick with what usually makes money and draws crowds in. Unique and original (if that even exists in the way people like to use it) doesn't exist anymore anyway, and the few things you could say is "unique and original" is either too outlandish, too complex or too alienating to ever make back the money an effort it takes to make these things, no matter the medium. |
