I'd love to have Jimmy Stewart's De Soto from this film. A classic two-year only body style by Virgil Exner...called the "million Dollar Look" by Chrysler (who owned De Soto). |

Great movie to see cars of the 1950s. |

Updated with HD captures from the Blu-ray, with time stamps and additional vehicles. Breathtaking Technicolor shots of 1950s San Francisco, including nearby Muir Woods: A panoramic image of the city that I created with four captures: Tailfin of a '57 Imperial briefly visible in one scene: |

Believe that Imperial is a '58, Modell. |

Kim Novak's Jaguar and Barbara Bel Geddes' Karmann Ghia must have been licensed at the same DMV office, possibly on the same date - their numbers are only 18 digits apart (Jag is MGK 759, Ghia is MGK 777) - maybe they both came from the same rental agency? -- Last edit: 2014-01-09 10:48:01 |

I have added a snapshot of the Studebaker Champion (backside) at the left side of the green Jaguar. Probably built in 1950? I hope someone can add more information about the year and model type of this car. |

The film was based on 'Bruges-la-Morte' by Georges Rodenbach, never realised that before... |
