Actually a SNCF X2800 niknamed "Picasso" due to split upper level driving cabin. Built by Renault,De Dietrich and ANF ( Bombardier nowadays) and powered by Renault of Saurer diesel engine.

By the way, the railway station with english indicators pannels is absolutely unrealistic? Is it meant to be in France? ... but looking at the synopsis of this series, I understand that the story is set 2092... when all the world will speak english? :D ... I bet and hope never ;)

 I think it's meant to be England in the 1970s, like the scenes with the Morris Minor and Marina. But the same railcar also appears at the level crossing with the Chevrolet Monza:

Perhaps it's a visual trick for linking different parts of the film.
