So it looks like this was a two-episode (50 minutes each) series in 1986 that was re-purposed into a 85 minute movie in 1987. Not sure which one the caps are from.

 Fun fact (in case you didn't look at the staff list in the above links): The author of the original manga later went on to write another manga about a boy delivering tofu in his dad's old Toyota... :D
