1935 sports comedy starring Joe E. Brown where he again plays a player for the Chicago Cubs, this time named Francis "Ike" Farrell tries to help the Cubs to the pennant with his pitching and hitting. Largely the same plot of the last movie, though this one at least has Ike actually kidnapped by gamblers and having to steal an ambulance to make it to the game in time for the pennant-clinching 9th inning. This one at least breaks up the monotony with Brown accidentally driving the ambulance onto a flatbed truck and later hijacking it! Also starring Olivia de Havilland and William Frawley once more!

This movie depicts the big game as a night game at Wrigley Field. While Major League baseball did have it's first night game in 1935, Wrigley Field's first night game wasn't until 1988!

The third and final part of Brown's baseball trilogy, following Fireman, Save My Child and Elmer, The Great.

Fireman, Save My Child - Joe Grant from Rosedale, Kansas
Elmer the Great - Elmer Kane from Gentryville, Indiana
Alibi Ike - Francis Farrell from Sauk Center

There seems to have been a slight Sinclair Lewis influence.

Done. Was not sure whether it was one or two stars. Aside from being along for the ride on the flatbed trailer, it's never interacted with.

Those would be one-star
