 As Q-Ball said, they were aiming for a stylised, timeless atmosphere so that the film wouldn't look dated.

 AND it was directed by the same guy who did "Gattaca". That Avanti may in fact be the same prop.

 Gotta say - ridiculous film, but possibly one of the all-time best casting of vehicles in a film. Ever.

Found the Buick here, had no idea these last 8 years that car was in this movie. Wonder why they never used it as it follows the styling of the other cars quite nicely
