I read somewhere that this movie was almost nominated for an Oscar; no joke, someone tried to get this film nominated for a Best Special Effects Academy Award (I think it may have had a chance; the effects are quite good and they did a good job of matching the old 1930s film serial techniques) but there were so few actual nominees that no Special Effects Oscar was given that year. After factchecking imdb, turns out one of the four effects guys they had was Rick Baker! |
