This was intended to be an adult-animated comedy akin to his raunchier stand-up material, but when he understandably bailed out on Caddyshack II, Warner Brothers demanded the film be changed to a family comedy-musical, because every animated film in the early-'90s just HAD to be a musical, and also sabotaged the film by not marketing it correctly, causing it to underperform. No respect, indeed! At least some people still like Rover Dangerfield... NOBODY likes Caddyshack II except masochists. I saw this movie as a kid and I didn't love or hate it, it was just kinda "eehhh". Looks to me like AMC Pacer which has somehow acquired a front-end transplant from something alien and French-looking - Panhard BT 24?? Alpine A110?? - both of which are bizarre choices. |
