Also known as "38° North." Chinese film about the Korean War starring Harrison Young (CSI, ER, Saving Private Ryan) as Eisenhower. Never released to the public, only a few clips of this film remain, and as such, this is not the complete film. The director made a whole 30-part TV series with Young as Eisenhower (and allegedly also starring Willem Dafoe) in coproduction with the DPRK, but the series' release coincided with 9/11 and it was banned along with all other Chinese films about the Korean War. After twenty years, interest for the series began to reappear due to the 70th anniversary of the war and the CCP's amnesty on Korean War films. Link to "baike.baidu.com" The series also has an IMDb page, but it's a hopeless mess of general info about the war, History Channel documentary covers and the actual series. -- Last edit: 2023-04-02 12:37:38 |
