It's an Open Kadette. |

It's a Rekord. This car is bigger than Kadett [B] |

They weren't imported to the States. Were they imported to Canada? |

I don't think so. But it looks like a 1964-65 Rekord... |

Most probably a car bought in Germany by an US officer serving there for a while and who later brought it back home...!!! |

In the 1969' import guide only Kadett A and B are listed. If you search for "Opel, made for USA, 1950-1966" you got: this list. So the only Opel from the Olympia/Rekord-family sold officially in the USA, was the 1958+ [P] -- Last edit: 2015-05-05 12:42:17 (dsl) |

Okay, sorry for being Captain Obvious. My point was that the car looks trashed, so it's unlikely that a US officer would "bring it back home"... |

His point is that the car was probably used for a few years before being trashed ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-05-06 17:29:48 |

And therefore probably not returned to Germany; that was my point in responding to Electra225's comment in the first place. -- Last edit: 2015-05-08 20:17:56 |

And I still don't see your point (as I said, he brought it back home in the US, used it for a few years, then sent it to the junkyard) |

Maybe one assembled in Mexico ? |
