Below I will post the genealogy of a late friend of mine (merely as a reminder to myself)....

His patrilineal line traces back to his eighth great-grandfather,
William Smith, who was born c. 1669, and to his wife, Mary
Croasdale, who was born c. 1672, both of whom were born in
Yorkshire, England.

His paternal grandfather was Carl Benson Smith (the son of Furman
Lee Smith and Frances Haskell "Hassie" Kilgore). Furman was the
son of Doctor Franklin Smith and Margaret Catherine Gates. Hassie
was the daughter of Josiah Stanley Kilgore and Mary J. Dunklin.

His paternal grandmother was Mary Estelle League (the daughter of
Daniel William League and Mary Minerva Odom). Daniel was the son
of Commodore Butler League and Roberta Malvina "Birdie" Holland.
His great-grandmother Mary was the daughter of James Knox Polk
Odom and Martha Ann Campbell.

His maternal grandfather was James Eugene Armitage (the son of
James Armitage and Louisa J. Keebler). His great-grandfather
James was the son of Isaac Anderson Armitage and Eleanor B.
"Nelly" Harmon. Louisa was the daughter of John B. Keebler and
Sarah Etter. His great-great-grandmother Sarah was born in
Greene County, Tennessee, to a Virginia-born father, John
Peter Etter, of Swiss-German ancestry, and to a German mother,
Phebe/Pheba Michaels/Michael/Mikle.

His maternal grandmother was Jamis Riley (the daughter of
Edward Madison Riley, Jr. and Margaret Elizabeth Dale). Edward
was the son of Edward Madison "Ned" Riley and Zilla Berry.
Margaret was the daughter of Sebron Culpepper Dale and Elizabeth
Huey Longino. Elizabeth's patrilineal great-grandfather,
Giovanni Tommaso Longino, was born in Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna,
Italy, making my friend of at least 1/128 Italian ancestry.

His matrilineal line traces back to his great-great-great-
grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Huey, who was born c. 1787
in Ireland.
