This is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner Convertible , not a Skyliner. The retractable roof Skyliner had a slightly longer boot line

Probably the best looking car on Cuba. It's mostly junk.

I don't know if junk is quite the right word, as they're just well-worn (and rather creatively kept running). However, the cars in the movie's version of Cuba (which was actually Spain) were just a little too clean.

Of course cars daily used for the better part of half a century would appear rather battered, especially if you have no access to spares. But many cars on Cuba are surprisingly well preserved, especially the ones organised in classic car clubs. I wouldn't be surprised to find a 57 Sunliner in the condition pictured on Cuba.

Best looking car in the 50s...

The '57s just look weird to me. The eyebrow over the headlights just seem too big. The '59s fill the space better and still keep the '57 style rear end. That is still a nice car nonetheless.

If it has to be a convertible and 1957, then it has to be a black Chrysler 300C, like the one Dennis Farina drove in "Crime Story".

It's definitely a 1957 Skyliner, the flap at the edge of the truck compartment for the retractable hardtop is present instead of a boot cover or edge of a soft top.

Maybe a reference to the similar-looking Chevrolet Bel Air in Dr.No? /vehicle_1973-Chevrolet-Bel-Air-2434-1957.html Even the camera shot looks similar.

I think in an extended version of this scene, Bond passes some military vehicles on the road, but I can't find it anywhere.
