Moonraker is okay, it has a fantastic villain for a start, and goes well with Moore's spoof-style Bond. But Die another Day is rubbish in my opinion. But it was more a tribute to all the previous films mashed than a new idea. Which didn't really work. |

I fairly enjoyed Die Another Day but the cinema, but after watching it for the second and third thim it didn't take long to see it's weaknesses, and the ending is pretty bad (awful CGI). It's definetely subpar, the worst of Brosnan's films and as weak as the sillier Roger Moore films. He wasn't even bald!! Charles Grey was very miscast, he was good in his little cameo in You Only Twice, but not right as Blofeld at all. I hate it when in the main climax at the oil rig he gets stuck in some escape pod and dangled about by a crane, Grey just sits inside shouting "What the bloody hell's going on?!". I think the only interesting thing about Diamonds Are Forever is that it seems to be the one the first Austin Powers film borrowed the most from in terms of production design. -- Last edit: 2007-01-24 21:11:57 |

Die Another Day is the worst Bond film. At least Moonraker was funny. The chase in D.A.D is also terrible. Come to think of it, very few of the Bond car chases are much good. For me, the two best are The Man with the Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me and even they aren't great. I suppose very few chases match up to Bullitt or Ronin. |

Ah, you are forgetting about the Citroën 2CV flying down the hill in For Your Eyes Only (that was awesome!). I didn't enjoy Die Another Day, they spent too much time in the Ice Palace, Madonna and Halle Berry were in it, and the satellite destroying the DMZ was too ridiculous, not to mention an invisible Aston Martin! I did enjoy the hovercraft chase scene in the beginning and the sword fight. Also I am wondering why nobody has a picture of the hovercraft?
