no, something newer -see the big windows all around, pimped backwards to the early 60ies. On the main pic it seems, that it even has the banana vents.

Interesting ingo  Was there Volkswagen 1300 sold with banana vent starting 1971 model year?

1971 1300 with two rows of slots and chrome banana vents
1972+ 1300 with 7-6-6-7 slots and the 4cm higher rear window
1973 1300 with black banana vents, lid knobs and wiper ams. 1.3 or 1.6 engine ('S')
1974 1300 with elephant foot lamps. 1.2, 1.3 or 1.6 engine

Can't verify the banana vents but main looks like a 1966 1200 with 'Amerika-Bügeln'

Or, does it sport the taller rear window as well as banana vents?

Why 1966? I'm still convinced, that on the main pic you can see banana vents, even full black plastic ones :o

Well it has the 1965+ body, for sure. 1965 had the 1200, but with larger 'shell', as well as the new 1966 1300. From 1966 the 1200 was back but with the smaller 'shell'. And it doesn't have the 1967 lid or bumper rails.

It does seem to have a wider track as well. So it could be a 1972+ (rear window) or 1973+ (vent) retro-fitted with older lid/apron (it has been done, but it's not easy) and bumpers.

I think @ingo will have the final word [Image: think_smiley_31.gif]

Thanks for the honour, but you are the Beetle-owner and -connaisseur, not me :p For me most probable is a 1973 VW 1300, pimped in the 60ies style.

Maybe it's to find here http://www.filmauto.de/ or here http://www.film-autos.com/

1966 is definitely wrong here
