First film for MGM.

"Keaton signed with MGM in 1928, a business decision that he would later call the worst of his life. He realized too late that the studio system would be more restrictive than the freedom he had known, severely limiting his creative input.

The film was almost lost forever. The master copy of it used today was made using a print that was found in Paris, in 1968, and a master positive copy of nearly the entire film, found in 1991. In modern copies of the film, the quality of the image varies dramatically."

“Will you please stay out of my undershirt!”

A very funny movie.

Replaced all pics wtih Criterion's HD which is a piecemeal restoration from different sources. Added some things, including the fire truck Buster rides on early in the movie.

Buster Keaton, one of the greatest actors. I dscovered him through "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963).
