Sure looks like it. Maybe something in the S-Series range?

Which "S-Series" from Renault do you think about?
It cannot be a S45 R or S45 RX:
[Image: 6654938977_bf992b5b0d_m.jpg] [Image: 6654948935_8aff979047_m.jpg]

Nor a S53 R or S53 RX:
[Image: 6549035581_290621d10b_m.jpg] [Image: 6999252289_511b3f3fec_m.jpg]

Nor a S105 R or S105 RX:
[Image: 6550068373_e4070400ae_m.jpg] [Image: 6803657295_629efe2c42_m.jpg]

I tried to see with newer Renault coaches, and thought first to an early FR1 model (1987 to 1997), with another grille and headlights?
But the windshield doesn't fit...

And nothing matches with the PR14 (1975 to 1989) or with the Renault Tracer (which has been produced from 1991 to 2001, while the tv series is from 1992...)
[Image: 6550516931_f1571c15ee_m.jpg] [Image: 11571606923_893d168fd7_n.jpg]

Any other idea? :D

Late 1980s - around 1987/88+ Ugarte bodywork on Renault chassis. Can be Renault A320 like here: Link to "tablica.pl"
And later version: Link to "www.fotobus.es"

You found a serious lead for that coach, thanks! But I'm not sure it's a A-Series, nor a 1987 model...

The coach-builder Ugarte seems to have bodies he use whatever the chassis you give to him :)
[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTUdauYONH888HJBGUXfZdUM6IHUHK1yGlaRNn2sHwGiHDVAiNpEg] [Image: 8369084487_b222dae908_m.jpg] [Image: 8715487666_82f5d275f4_m.jpg]
"Your" Renault A320 (I don't read Polish; is "Pilne" the name of the body, or a town???) // a Pegaso 5231 Ugarte Corvo // an Ugarte Corvo-bodied Scania K113...

What you call the "later version" is a another (and newer) model of Ugarte, the CX-Elite:
[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQKtyp87ZG29w8b3DaMbu6KM8f_5IIUaqPBBhycP9dHFOWtYRNI] [Image: 8595035214_2394850d2f_m.jpg] [Image: 8720734679_fd9d783f3d_m.jpg]
"Your" Renault Ugarte CX-Elite to be compared with the same body on a Pegaso 5226 or on an Iveco EuroRider 29...

6 windows for the Ugarte Cx-Elite versus 5 for the Corvo model. Plus the number of headlights and the style of the blinkers, the shape of the windshield... The Corvo model matches perfectly the one of the tv series.

Next step: to find the model year and guess which chassis is underneath that body. The Renault A320 or it's predecessor, according to the year of the body? Not sure, when you look at these Renault based (older?) versions of Ugarte Corvo coaches:

1984 Renault A290 Ugarte Corvo // 1987 Ugarte Corvo-bodied Renault D300 // Renault E340 Ugarte Corvo L // Renault A320 Ugarte Corvo L...

- Well, the bus in movie is Renault based - to this there is no doubts I guess.
- The "pilne" means "urgent", so it is not related to the body type.
- The year 1987/88, as first for this design, is by elimination. My linked "Polish" bus for sale is from 1988, the youngest bus with the previous design, I was able to find, was from 1986 - so the one in movie is not older.
- Agree that the A-range chassis is indeed not yet so obvious and better confirmation is needed.

- I know that the 2nd linked bus is newer and different - this is what I meant by "later version" (after all it is later) - linked its pic more as curiosity.

I didn't find any older "new" Corvo coach than this one, from 1989 (the "Polish" 88 model doesn't appear in my search engines):
1989 Mercedes 0303/Ugarte Corvo SE

As all researches with "1987 Ugarte Corvo" give the old body (at least with my search engines :) ):
[Image: 8471896634_5618705df3_m.jpg] [Image: 8472501529_8c8189e930_m.jpg]
Pegaso 6031A // Renault D300

we may indeed assume that "our" coach is a 1987/1988 model with a black strip over the grille (to meet the bus company decoration) and with a non colored front shield, like this one:

For the chassis, knowing the name of the company could help, as a lot of enthusiasts have made amazing year by year coaches catalogs about transportation companies, on the Net, so maybe there is one about "our" Corvo waiting for us. Let's be optimistic, the story is not over ;)
_______
Just for the record, the old Corvo body seems to have stayed a bit as "Corvo L":
1990 Renault A290 Ugarte Corvo L

And the other Spanish coach-builder Beulas had a very similar design for its own bodies, at that time...

The late 80s Spanish touch? :D

One of the biggest Spanish forum dedicated to their trucks and buses unfortunately doesn't have much info about this buses: http://www.camionesclasicos.com/FORO/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=8338

Yes, I also saw this website, while searching for Corvo coaches examples.

But Internet is a genuine Ali Baba's cave :)
I was wondering why there was so few informations about Renault A290, A320, D300 and E340 in French or English Wikipedia or in the search engines. In fact, at least the 3 first ones were only made in Spain.
Here is the 1987 A290 and A320 catalog front cover, found in "Les Renault de papier", a website dedicated to the catalogs of (almost) all Renault vehicles.
[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQIyluKOgA1pCWfAD8xdetk4W-r0dGptfnyusKL0bH9xk21pLjSOA]

(But even Spanish people seems not knowing them :) )

As you can notice in the picture, we only see a chassis. It seems that this family of coaches never had their own body (or I didn't search enough ;) ):

Renault A320 with Noge Xaloc II body // Camelsa Yhetero body // Unicar 2000 / Sirius body...
1990 Renault A290 with Noge Xaloc II body // Unicar 3000GLS body.

It's not a formal proof, as the D300, although having its own body, have also had different "external" ones, but this looks like a serious clue for "our" coach could be based on A-Series...
_______

I found only 4 pictures (and no webpage) on the E340: 3 of the same vehicle belonging to the Spanish Air Force, the other one being from the naval forces. Was it a special vehicle made only for the Spanish army???
No Spanish contributor here to help us? :)

Just for illustration, the Renault D 300:

This body also was made by external company - the Spanish Obradors. Here you can see it on the Pegaso chassis.

For a while I thought, that these "A, D, E" chassis could be used by RVI in its well known FR1, but paper catalogues from the early 90s/mid 90s already don't mention them anymore (despite FR1 was still in production and despite there are other "free chassis" mentioned). On the other hand in the 90s RVI could simply stop to sell the "tourist chassis" to external manufacturers...

Ok. No Spanish coach from Renault had its own body... This will not help :D

All I know is that the privatization of Renault (1990 to 1996) changed a lot of "habits" of the make. And "Renault Bus", the coaches and buses branch of RVI/Renault Trucks, merged eventually with Fiat-Iveco to form Irisbus in 1999.
But I think you already knew that ;)

I don't know/talk/write Spanish enough to ask the question in the camionesclasicos.com forums, but maybe it's the better place to learn how evolved the Spanish branch of Renault Bus and its chassis?
