LHD so Simca 1307/1308. First appearance at border checkpoint:

- reappears a few times in the town (which may or may not be Glasgow), and probably a crew car:

Looks tints, so early high level trim??

If we take into consideration its homeland market specification, then the oldest possibility can be a 1976 1308 GT - headrests + headlights wipers. Pity no more of the grille is visible, but chroemd strips can look black as well in some circumstances.

EDIT: I have to correct myself, since the type of grille is unclear and all other details, including the tints, were optional also in lower models, it can be a "1307 S" as well (as the oldest option).

The town shots are indeed Glasgow - Hope Street for the first one and just round the corner in Sauchiehall Street for the second, outside the Savoy Centre. That stretch of Sauchiehall Street had recently been pedestrianised at the time of filming but still had demarcated pavements and roads - it is now uniformly paved for pedestrians. Curious to see that car in both the border checkpoint and the Glasgow scenes. The border checkpoint looks like it was genuinely shot somewhere on mainland Europe, would seem a lot of effort to import the car to Glasgow rather than source locally available LHD models.
