WVWZZZ9CZXM915140 - German assembled? I know the early European ones were built in Wolfsburg. |

I was asking because usually the VINs start with 3VW. Then these are Mexican as well: /vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&yearFrom=&yearTo=&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=1&model=new+beetle&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on&mk=&origin=&madein=DE&madefor=&role= |

They are Mexican indeed. Anyway, independently of the WMI, M at 11th position means built at Puebla plant |

Yes early built EU models carry a German WMI even if built in puebla. Not sure when the switch to the Mexican WMI occurred. |

Maybe Puebla assembled early cars from German-sourced CKD-kits? ![]() |

As far as I could tell Euro Beetles carried the German WMI up to 2004 and presumably after the facelift as well. |
