It had the standard (open) rear differential.

When the stunt driver "power brakes" (does a burnout) with the truck, the right rear drive-wheel slips (spins) while the opposing left rear drive-wheel remains helpless, virtually stationary.

Notice in the capture the right rear wheel is spinning and the left rear wheel is not.

Though you cannot see it, the helpless left rear drive-wheel is still receiving torque from the engine, albeit a very small percentage. The right rear drive-wheel (the spinning wheel) is receiving most of the torque, because it broke traction first.

A perfect example why open differentials are useless when it comes to torque management, and why they are no good when it comes to off road use (unless the vehicle employs traction control).

Also the truck itself is not a 4x4. It’s a rear-wheel-drive truck customized like a four-wheel-drive truck.

I wonder who owns this truck? It's been in other movies and TV shows, Clear and Present Danger being one of them.
