Very good Scorsese film, it inspired the use of mohawks by punks bands after one punk band member saw the film and saw the mohawk and started to dawn one. Other punk bands followed. |

Interesting tidbit, I noticed that during the scene where Bickle takes Betsy out for coffee/pie/whatever early on in the film, a 1974 Chevy Impala "Spirit of America" edition drives by outside the window and is clearly visible. This is a very rare car. |

I have seen such 1974 Chevrolet Impala "Spirit of America" edition once in my lifetime ![]() |

quite unusual. there were monzas and vegas and dodge colts finished in factory white and trimmed with red and blue for '76 as well. |

Yep. They made Spirit of America Novas, Vegas, and Impalas. It was only offered on the "Sport Coupe" pillarless 2 door model Impalas, and only in 1974 for whatever reason, you'd think it'd have been in 1976. They came in white or blue, used Chevy 2wd truck Rally wheels, and had white interiors with red or blue dashboards/carpet. I have a standard Impala in this bodystyle but hope to find one with this option, nice car! |

I added a photo of the aforementioned '74 Impala. I have a second picture to upload showing the car from the windshield back to validate what it is once the photo is approved. |

Upgrading to HD. Some passer-bys seen during the Wizard's speech, yell out loudly if you would like something to get listed: Some other background cars (including a DS), again feel free to yodel or joik, whichever you prefer: |

Looks like 1974-76 Ford Maverick. Looks like 1975 Chevrolet Chevelle due to the hubcap. Looks like new hubcap, so 1974-76 SAAB 99. -- Last edit: 2013-04-28 01:03:42 |

![]() That's a '74 Impala Custom Coupe with the fixed quarter windows and different roofline, but a lower end model with the dogdish hubcaps and painted wheels. Don't see that often at all. -- Last edit: 2013-10-13 18:50:03 (Sandie) |
