Franchot Tone, Ella Raines, Alan Curtis, Thomas Gomez, Aurora Miranda, Fay Helm, and Elisha Cook, Jr.:![[Image: siodmak44phantom5.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/17160/siodmak44phantom5.jpg) Based on a novel by Cornell Woolrich, written by Bernard C. Schoenfeld, directed by Robert Siodmak. Not very good noir, I find (the accusation is very weak and nevertheless puts the man in death row). But Ella Raines shines. She'll be back to Siodmak next year in The Strange Affair of Uncle Harry, a better film (though crushed in the end by the rules of the Production Code). Time-tagged.
