Also called "Dad, Can I Borrow The Car?" Although IMDb says this was written for TV, it was released in theaters and wasn't on TV until '72 as an episode of The Wonderful World of Disney. For which additional material was filmed, extending the short from ~23 minutes to 47. -- Last edit: 2010-03-20 01:13:48 |

Disney Channel used this, or at least clips from it, as filler in the '80s. I know I saw the racing pinstripes and the talking Sprite on there when visiting my sister and her kid. Here's a close-up of the pedal car... ![]() |

Any of these still around?![]() I have no idea what I'd do with it if I bought it, but it looks like an interesting collector's item. -- Last edit: 2010-03-20 20:49:53 |

Very funny! One of my favorite Disney episodes - it was available on a two-episode VHS tape along with "The Rock Star and the Tiger". I imagine the scene in the car wash was one of the added sequences, as the main character was played by a different actor! Also note when they show his driver's license - the boy's name is "Rex Carr". |

The version I have runs 22 minutes so it's probably the original. |
