He just went for a swim in the ocean one day while accompanied by three friends and was never seen again. He just up and vanished. Neither him, his remains, or any trace of either have ever been found. As with the docu-drama covering the Tenerife airport disaster, this also features personal recollections from people involved with the search for Harold Holt as well as from government staff who served under him in addition to various doctors, political historians, and people who knew Holt personally. The Harold Holt Swimming Center was dedicated to his memory. I know that Harold Holt was an avid swimmer and diver, but naming a swimming center after a man who was lost at sea and likely drowned is still rather strange. Interesting trivia; the car with a broken window is where Australian politician Arthur Calwell was shot during an assassination attempt in 1966. Something on an assembly line.
