Case

Case Corporation was a manufacturer of agricultural machinery and construction equipment.
Founded in 1842 by Jerome Increase Case as the J. I. Case Threshing Machine Company, it operated under that name until 1928. For 66 years after that it was the J. I. Case Company, and was often called simply Case.

Case's corporate entities and brands changed several times in the 1980s and 1990s. When its corporate parent, Tenneco, bought International Harvester's agricultural equipment division, they changed their brand name to Case International at first, and then abbreviated that to Case IH.

After Fiat S.p.A. purchased Case Corporation in 1999 and formed CNH, they merged the company's assets with others from Case and New Holland. CNH's construction equipment lines are called New Holland Construction and Case Construction Equipment (Case CE), currently also listed on this page.
