For this generation, it didn't matter. The Chrysler Neon didn't come around until the second generation. As for this, there's too little detail to tell conclusively, but I'm leaning towards Plymouth (I believe both Neons used those wheels, so I really have nothing to go on, it's just a guess). |

My second car is a Chrysler Neon 1997 (export edition). Same color, same everything, but different wheelcovers. |

Hecubus, isn't second generation renamed to "SX 2.0"? (2000-2005) Or you mean the facelifted first generation ? I do not remember if we had the very first one in Europe as Chrysler model, or if it was a later (facelifted) one. |

Not exactly. As I said, the first generation ('95-'99) was always either a Dodge or Plymouth Neon. For the next generation, I'm less sure (I'm tempted to say I have some brochures lying around from 2000 for both Dodge and Plymouth Neons - I'm less sure if they're from Canada or not). However, for a period it was sold only as the Chrysler Neon (in Canada). And, yes, when the Neon was slightly facelifted ('03? '04?), it was renamed the Dodge SX 2.0 up here. |

Neons in the USA were either Plymouth or Dodge until 2002. Then they were only Dodge as Plymouth was killed by the bean counters. They figured that since sales of Plymouth amounted to only 25% of their sales they could kill it off and people would just buy the Dodge or Chrysler. Same idea for the 2 door cars, since only 25% of the models sold as either a 2 door or 4 door were 2 doors, just kill the 2 door model and the people will buy the 4 door. Imagine their astonishment when sales for Chrysler corp took a roughly 25% dropp in 2002. Anyway, the Neon when sold as an export was badged as a Chrysler and was equipped with the appropriate lighting as per the laws of the country where it was sold. |

Highline trim level. Sport have body colored door handles. Base has gray bumpers and obviously black door handles. Shame we can't see the right fender. All 1995 models have the little Pentastar logo on the right fender. |
