Then the manufacturer is International Harvester. It could also be a M4/M4A!/M21 - look at the bumper and the position of the lights. Most of those produced by White. Some by International Harvester, Autocar and Diamond T. http://www.wwiivehicles.com/usa/half_tracks/m4_mortar_carriage.html |

You 're fast today. Save it as International Harvester M3A1 and everything is correct. B) |

Well, it appears that M3 A1 were not built by IH (neither by White, except for some conversions) but by Autocar and Diamond T: http://afvdb.50megs.com/usa/halftrackm3.html#M3A1 (plus some were converted 75mm Gun Motor Carriages M3, made by Autocar too, other 57mm GMC T48 made by Diamond T, and 105mm Howitzer Motor Carriage T19 by Diamond T… plus converted M3 made by White, Autocar and Diamond T). |

So, if IH, not M3 A1. And if M3 A1, not IH. |

here a guide on the difference between M3 and M5 http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=292 Physically the M5 had a couple of notable differences, half-track's fenders were flat in cross-section (rather than round), and it was never fitted with the large fender-mounted headlights. The use of rolled homogeneous steel armour by IHC on their vehicles allowed plates to be welded together, giving the M5 smoother appearance than the bolted M3 half-tracks. The M5 half-tracks featured rounded rear corners, which contrast to the right-angled corners on the M3. Though the Homogeneous armour offered less protection from AP rounds it did lessen the chance of injury due to bullet splash and flying cap screws that could be dislodged when hit. |

… Well, the easiest way would be to go to the movie but I don't have it, and what I find on Youtube are uncomplete versions (this half-track was grabbed at 01:58:42). |
